"Sometimes you just have to stop fretting over your don't have‘s and can't have‘s, and start rejoicing how much much more have‘s you‘ve got"

Coming from a family of strict, authoritarian parents, I always had goals and limits set out for me. For most of the time I questioned my situation as it always seemed to me that my brother was receiving the better treatment. From my point of view, I should have the better position as I was performing well enough in my studies, unlike him who is at the borderline of failing, yet it is I who is made to study on free times. It is I who wasn't allowed to play computer for too long. Whenever I messed up, I always hear intentional harsh words, foul words thrown at me, whereas, I never heard my parents say those things at him even if his actions call for it. I'd gotten used to it that sometimes I would shot back at them saying that yea I am xxxxxx! There were times when I wished they'd be different. Be more reasonable. Be more kind. But as the overused-but-true saying goes, nobody is perfect. People might lack in one aspect, but they redeem themselves through another. While there are just some people you cant help but admire, never be blinded enough to wish that you had their lives. Everybody possesses pain, frustrations and resentments of their own; Some just choose to not let it bother them as much and just learn to accept it.  Happiness alone does not define who you are because the pain is what makes you human. It is what makes you feel living, and happiness is the pleasure that comes with it. Your life is a balance between the good things and the bad things you have. It is just up to you whether you see the glass as half full or half empty. Its either you see the good in evil, or the evil in good. Happiness is a choice. If you look at how unfair life is, you surely would have enough frustrations to fill a big lake, but if you look at how much more blessed you're life is, you would find it that an ocean is not enough to contain all the things you are grateful about.
